Where the legends thunder again
Historic Motorsport Show was founded in 2007 on a simple claim: the cars that made racing history deserve more than a display paddock — they deserve the track, at speed, with the sound the grandstands remember. Eighteen editions later, ours is Europe's largest celebration of historic motorsport, reuniting 1,200+ pre-1980 racing machines, their pilots, and the fans who worship them for one weekend at Donington Park.
What sets the Show apart is the running. We stage more moving demonstrations than any comparable gathering — not static rows under rope, but grids that fire, parade, and race as their builders intended.
What the weekend holds
- Partner-hosted grids: Masters Historic Racing series, Formula Junior, pre-1966 GTs, and FIA Appendix K saloons.
- Demonstration runs through the day, with commentary that tells each car's story while it's on track.
- The paddock open to all: talk to the owners, watch the preparation, hear the machines started by hand.
Our audience spans the serious and the curious: classic car collectors trailing their trailers across Europe, families introducing children to the smell of race fuel, and the mechanics who keep these machines alive and trade war stories all weekend. Entry is built for them — grandstand access included, paddock walkable, and children under 12 free.
For the machines, and the people
Every edition funds conservation: proceeds support the restoration and safe running of historic race cars, and our technical inspection keeps standards high on track. Historic Motorsport Show is the historic racing event where the legends live, breathe, and thunder back to life — one weekend a year, at Donington, exactly as fast as they should be.
